veganism isn't (yet) universally possible
- until all food is free for all, cheap and easy meat products or self-sourced meat will be widely consumed by poor people. self-grown plant diets are also often incredibly impractical or impossible under capitalism
- importance of keeping native practices going
- medically necessary diets
- convenience.
- continued development of varied textures, flavours and nutritional content of plant and artificial proteins
- transitioning away from mass animal farming requires complex ecosystem renewal, economic support of farmers, retraining, etc
- need for better archival of skills, technique, knowledge around meat production for the sake of emergency preparedness
